The St. Peter Celestine Music Ministry leads the assembly in song at all of the weekend Liturgies and for special celebrations throughout the year. The

St. Peter Celestine weekend Mass schedule is supported as follows:


Saturday 4:30PM Vigil Mass: Cantor and Piano/Organ
Sunday 7:30AM Mass: Cantor and Piano/Organ
Sunday 9:00AM Mass: Cantor, Vocal Group and Instrumental Ensemble
Sunday 11:00AM Mass: Cantor, SATB Choir, Piano, Organ, and Instruments Sunday 7:00PM Mass: Cantor, Vocal Group, Praise and Worship Band


Ministries

Children’s Choir                                                      

The age of children’s choir members ranges from Grade 2 through Grade 8. The choirs sing on average once per month at the 9am Mass, as well as other parish special events and celebrations. The children’s choir leads assembly song, and performs other pieces of music within the liturgy. Children in grades 6-8 are encouraged to begin training for the ministry of cantor.

 

9am Mass                                                           

The members of the 9am Music Ministry sing and play to accompany the 9am weekly Sunday Liturgy, as well as other special parish events and celebrations. All voice parts and instruments are welcome. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings, 7-9 pm in the Church.

                         

                    

11am Mass                                               

The members of the 11am Music Ministry sing and play to accompany the 11am weekly Sunday Liturgy, as well as other special parish events and celebrations. All voice parts and instruments are welcome. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings, 7-9 pm in the Church.

  

                                      

7pm Mass / Praise and Worship          

The members of the 7pm Music Ministry sing and play to accompany the 7pm weekly Sunday Liturgy, Praise and Worship nights, and other special parish events and celebrations. All voice parts and instruments are welcome. Rehearsals are Monday evening, 7-9 pm in the Church.

 

Instrumentalists

All instrumentalists are welcome to accompany Parish Liturgy. While most musicians will be a member of one of the above ministries, additional instruments are needed for Holy Days and other parish events and celebrations.

 

Music Ministry Coordinators

Every group within the Parish Music Ministry has a coordinator serving as the contact person. The coordinator distributes and communicates information to members in oordination with the Music Director.The coordinators meet regularly with the Music Director for planning, evaluation, and development of Parish Music Ministry.

 

Cantors                                                           

Cantors are the leaders of song during liturgy. The cantor’s responsibilities include proclaiming the Responsorial Psalm, teaching new music, and leading the assembly in hymns, songs and responses.Cantors rehearse weeknights once per month, and during some choir rehearsals.
