This committee meets once a month to review all liturgical ministries, to plan upcoming liturgies and to educate the congregation on the current changes of liturgy in the Church.
This ministry consists of men and women who welcome parishioners and visitors as they enter the church and distribute bulletins. Ushers facilitate the needs of the assembly during Communion and take up the collection.
It is through this ministry that the church environment is in harmony with the liturgical seasons. Care is taken to maintain a reverent and prayerful focus.
This ministry assists in serving Communion at Mass and in taking Communion to shut-ins. Members are recommended by the pastor, appointed by the Bishop of the Diocese of Camden, and commissioned at a parish liturgy. Training is provided.
This is a ministry of boys and girls from parish families in the fifth through twelfth grades who assist at the altar during Sunday Masses, weddings, funerals and other church services. Generally, three or four servers are scheduled for every Sunday Mass and special services. Training of new altar servers is during the spring of every year.
The Lector assists the Church by proclaiming the scripture readings at Sunday and Daily Masses. They are giving training at St. Peter Celestine before being scheduled.
Through prayer, sharing and retreats, these groups assist men in their journey as Christians in today’s world. Prayer and discussion are the cornerstones of the group as the men examine their relationship with God and what it means to be a son, husband and father.
This is a scripture-study group which meets at 7:30 pm in a private home. Scripture is read, followed by discussions as to how God’s Word can be incorporated into daily life interactions with others. Women of all ages are encouraged to attend.
